"Finchley Lane", by Marco De Rosso, starring Harun Ćehović, will open 15th OFF
Film by students and alumni of the Royal Academy of Art (RADA) — 'Finchley Lane', directed by Marco De Rosso, produced by Harun Cehovic, a young actor from Sarajevo and the only student from BiH ever at RADA, will open the 15th Telemach Youth Film Festival Sarajevo
This is the first time after 5 years that OFF will open a short film, and due to the fact that the young actor from Sarajevo is the only student from BiH ever at RADA, a film producer and an actor in the same.
The mission of Telemach Youth Film Festival Sarajevo is the promotion and improvement of young talents, film workers, their promotion and improvement of the system in which they can work. The programming team and OFF selectors are more than happy to break tradition and open the festival with a short film at the main ceremony, precisely because they will be celebrating the success of young people from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Harun's departure to the Royal Academy of Arts in London is certainly an indication that young people from Bosnia and Herzegovina have potential, and Harun is a clear proof of how hard work and effort pays off, because talent is hopeless if there is no dedicated work.
This year's Festival will open four different films at 4 festival locations. The official and main opening ceremony at the Youth Theater on July 18 will be completed by the premiere of the film 'Finchley Lane'.
"Finchley Lane" is a film about four best friends who try to become actors in London. As they begin to experience the ups and downs of the acting world, the pressures of the industry and their personal ambitions, their friendships are put to the test. What does it take to make it happen and does the end justify the means? They soon realize that the cost of their ambition may be greater than they ever imagined, and their friendships are at risk.
