Jana Riemann

GER Programmer, curator, and cultural worker

Jana Riemann is a Berlin-based programmer, curator, and cultural worker with a strong background in film festival programming and event management. She holds degrees in Film Studies from Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz (BA) and Freie Universität Berlin (MA).
 
Since 2021, she has served on the Berlinale Shorts selection committee and previously worked at the Berlinale as a location manager and Q&A host. Jana has curated and managed programs for festivals including Duhok IFF, Film Festival Cottbus, the Kurdish Film Festival Berlin, and the Ukrainian Film Festival Berlin, contributing to both short and feature film selections. Her curatorial work often centers on social themes, such as the project Women’s Roles in Socialism and Beyond, and she is committed to promoting underrepresented voices in cinema.
